Dr. Mark Ashley is the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of the Centre for Neuro Skills (CNS), a post-acute rehabilitation provider that has offered brain injury and stroke treatment programs since 1980. CNS facilities in California include Bakersfield, Los Angeles, and San Francisco. In Texas, CNS locations include Dallas, Fort Worth, Houston, and Austin. In 2011, Dr. Ashley established the Clinical Research and Education Foundation, a nonprofit research organization that advances public and clinical understanding of brain injury causes and treatment. Dr. Ashley’s work has been published in many professional and peer-reviewed research publications, and he has written four books: Working with Behavior Disorders: Strategies for Traumatic Brain Injury Rehabilitation; Traumatic Brain Injury Rehabilitation; Traumatic Brain Injury rehabilitation, 3rd Edition; and Traumatic Brain Injury Rehabilitation, 4th Edition. He is a frequent lecturer on topics associated with acquired brain injury. Dr. Ashley holds the position of Chairmen Emeritus with both the Brain Injury Association of America (BIAA) and the California Brain Injury Association. He served on advisory panels for the BIAA’s Guidelines for the Rehabilitation and Disease Management of Adults with Moderate to Severe Traumatic Brain Injury and the Blue-Ribbon Panel on Traumatic Brain Injury and Post-Traumatic Stress convened by Generals Peter W. Chiarelli and Joseph Dunford. He is a Past Chair of the Corporate Advisory Committee of the American Academy for Certification of Brain Injury Specialists and served on the California Traumatic Brain Injury Advisory Council. Dr. Ashley served as a Co-Chair for the Cognitive Rehabilitation Subcommittee of the Interdisciplinary Special Interest Group of ACRM. He serves on the Advisory Board for the Center for Applied Neurosciences of the University of Cyprus.
