BIO

Stacy Thomashaw, M.A., CCC-SLP, BCS-S, CBIS, received her Master’s degree in Communicative Disorders from the University of Central Florida. She has over 20 years of experience specializing in acute dysphagia and brain injury rehabilitation. She has worked predominantly in the acute rehabilitation setting and acute hospital setting with both adult and pediatric patients.

She has served in many roles including the Director of Therapy Operations, Stroke Clinical Coordinator and worked with her teams to achieve Joint Commission Disease Specific Certifications in Brain Injury, Hip Fracture and Spinal Cord Injury.

Stacy is a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist, Board Certified Swallowing Specialist (BCS-S) and a Certified Brain Injury Specialist (CBIS). Stacy is a clinical educator and has published multiple research articles in dysphagia rehabilitation and rehabilitation discharge outcomes in multiple sources, including but not limited to the “Archives of Physical Rehabilitation and Medicine.” Currently Stacy serves as the North Regional Director of Acute Rehabilitation for Baptist Health North in South Florida.
